About Me

BACKGROUND

I studied photojournalism at the University of Texas at Austin (hook 'em!), headed to London right after graduation to learn how to make tea and run errands, and then landed in San Francisco at the beginning of the first dot-com boom. As a producer and photo editor at SF Gate.com,  one of the early leaders in online journalism, I was responsible for sourcing, assigning and editing visual content to enhance the online storytelling experience.

I continued on to photo editing in New York City at magazines and photo agencies, producing breaking news and long-form photo essays with Corbis’ global team of photojournalists. I worked closely with photographers to hone their vision and bring clarity to their projects, as well as pitching their stories to domestic and international clients.

At Redux Pictures, a boutique photo agency specializing in editorial and commercial commissions, I served as Senior Photographers’ Representative, landing assignments with top editorial and corporate clients here and abroad. My editing helped photographers gain recognition from prestigious contests such as World Press Photo, Communication Arts, Photo District News and American Photography. My marketing efforts, which included producing high-profile photo events, award-winning collateral, and books, helped solidify the agency’s reputation in the photo industry as a top source for creative talent around the world.

I led the in-house photo and video team at Ten-X Commercial, the world's leading online real estate marketplace. During my time as Director of Photography and Content Marketing, we built a nationwide-network of over 350 professional architectural photographers and videographers. The team managed the production of over 6,000 photo, video and VR/360 shoots, as well as thought leadership video content to attract and retain customers.

WHICH BRINGS US TO TODAY

I launched JasmineDeFoore.com in Austin in 2010 to work with photographers and publications on a project basis. Since then, I’ve focused on photo editing and production for photographers,  corporations, PR firms, and non-profits. I truly love being a photography consultant because every project is unique.

BONUS POINTS

I’m very proud to have launched I Love Texas Photo, a site dedicated to all things photography in Texas.

Check out the Instagram project, which features a different Texas-based photographer every three days.

Along with Kimberly Davis and Matthew Mahon, I produced the Texas Photo Roundup, bringing top art buyers, photo editors and photographers together in Austin for 3 days of inspiring photography events. Over the three years, we hosted incredible artists like Dan Winters, Chris Buck, Stephanie Rausser and many more.
